About Formidex

Formidex is a free online image editing tool that runs entirely in your browser. All 18 tools process images directly on your device. No images are uploaded to servers, no accounts needed, and no limits set. Formidex was created because most existing online tools are either too expensive, require accounts, upload images to external servers, or restrict result quality.

Formidex is developed and operated by Tom Silas Helmke from Germany. As an independent developer, the focus is on quality, privacy, and user-friendliness. Formidex is a project born from conviction: image editing should be accessible to everyone, without compromising privacy.

Formidex uses cutting-edge browser technologies: WebGPU and WebAssembly for hardware-accelerated AI processing, the Canvas API for classic image editing, and open-source AI models from Hugging Face for intelligent features like background removal, text recognition, and image upscaling. All models run locally on your device.

Privacy is not a feature but the foundation of Formidex. Since all processing happens in the browser, we technically have no access to your images. They never leave your device at any point. This isn't a promise we could break, but a technical fact.

Formidex is funded through advertising (Google AdSense). This allows all tools to remain permanently free, without subscriptions, credits, or hidden costs. We display ads discreetly without interfering with tool usage.

Formidex exclusively uses open-source technologies with permissive licenses (Apache 2.0, MIT). All AI models used are publicly available and community-reviewed.
